Helping babies grow, feed, move, and connect with ease

The first year of life is full of rapid changes. When feeding, movement, regulation, or milestones feel stressful, occupational therapy can help identify what may be getting in the way and provide practical support for both baby and caregiver.

We help you and your baby with…

A baby with light skin and blond hair is lying down while an adult gently touches their nose with a finger. The baby is wearing a pink shirt with white star patterns and appears to be looking at the adult's hand.

Oral motor skills, difficulty latching to breast and/or bottle, long feeds, tongue / lip tie support, reflux or frequent spit-up, bottle refusal or transition, trouble starting solids.

Visual motor skills, reaching, grasping, midline play, early problem-solving, social engagement, and developmentally-appropriate play.

A young child with curly hair looks surprised or curious while crawling on the floor, with toys around him.

Tummy time, rolling, sitting, crawling, standing & early walking readiness, head turn preference, torticollis, flat spot concerns, body tightness / body tension, and overall strength/coordination.

Difficulty calming, body tension, sensory sensitivities, fussiness during daily routines, and caregiver-baby co-regulation.

Families often reach out when their baby…

  • Is delayed with rolling, sitting, or crawling

  • Has trouble calming or settling

  • Had a tongue/lip tie release or is preparing for one

  • Has reflux-like feeding discomfort

  • Seems to use one side of the body more than the other

  • Has difficulty with breast or bottle feeding

  • Seems tense, stiff, or uncomfortable

  • Dislikes tummy time

  • Turns their head mostly to one side

  • Has a flat spot or body asymmetry

infant SCREENINGs and EVALUATIONs

Choosing the Right First Step

infant developmental screening

An infant screening is a brief, non-diagnostic check-in for families who have a question or concern but are not sure if a full evaluation is needed.

A screening may be a good fit if you are wondering about your baby’s: feeding or oral motor skills; tummy time tolerance; rolling, sitting, crawling, or milestone progress; head preference, body symmetry, or flat spot concerns; visual motor skills, such as tracking, reaching, or hand-eye coordination; sensory regulation, calming, or comfort during daily routines

Screenings are designed to help determine whether your baby appears to be developing as expected, may benefit from home strategies, or should be referred for a full occupational therapy evaluation.

Best for: families who want guidance, reassurance, or help deciding the next step.

Choose an infant screening: if you are unsure whether your baby needs therapy and want a brief check-in.

*If a full OT evaluation is recommended and scheduled within 7 days, the screening fee will be applied toward the evaluation price.

infant comprehensive evaluation

An infant evaluation is a comprehensive assessment for babies with feeding, movement, regulation, or developmental concerns.

During an evaluation, we take a deeper look at your baby’s strengths, challenges, routines, and overall development. This may include feeding observation, oral motor assessment, movement and milestone observation, body symmetry and posture screening, sensory regulation, visual motor skills, parent interview, and individualized recommendations.

An evaluation is recommended when concerns are more noticeable, ongoing, or impacting feeding, comfort, movement, sleep, play, or daily routines.

Best for: families who already have concerns and want a full plan of support.

Choose an infant evaluation: if your baby is having consistent difficulty with feeding, milestones, body symmetry, regulation, or daily routines and you want a full assessment with a treatment plan.

Still not sure? Contact us and we can help you choose the next step for your baby

infant Therapy sessions

Once a comprehensive evaluation is completed, babies will begin therapy sessions that are individualized based on your baby’s needs and your family’s goals. Sessions include hands-on support, developmental therapeutic activities, parent coaching, and home program recommendations.

Therapy may focus on improving feeding and oral motor function, building strength and endurance for gross motor milestones, support calming and sensory regulation, and building visual motor skills for early play skills.
